a lot of you remember my first blog from when i was in ghana. i think about ghana every single day, and it still amazes me how much those months influenced who i am and how i interact with the world. here are some of my favorite photos. the kids in my village welcomed me, laughed at me, kicked my ass at soccer, and made it impossible for me to be sad, even in the face of poverty, corruption, negativity, and my own physical illness.
Elaine! I'm so happy to find your blog and virtually connect with you! Congratulations on your engagement-- that's so exciting. And thanks for the reminder of Berkeley--- ahhhhh, I love that place. Much love to you! --Becca
my name is elaine. i grew up in sundance, utah and later in salt lake city, utah. i moved to san francisco in 2005 and since then have lived in berkeley, san jose, santa cruz, san francisco again, and now i live in newark, california with my partner and my grandmother. the way i experience my life is intimately linked with the cities i live in and the people i interact with, so i guess i'm living my life one city at a time.
